3:10 to Yuma

This film is coming out in September. Originally it was supposed to come out in October, but it was just pushed to the beginning of September. Whether it was general buzz around the film, the studios belief in it or an unrelated decision, I don't know. I do know that I can't wait.

The director: James Mangold. His writing compliments his direction so well and in such a subtle way. He's responsible for Heavy, Copland, Identity and Walk the Line. Also, Kate & Leopold, which I've never seen. But the man's got talent. I hold Copland in the highest regard, but that's for another day.

3:10 to Yuma stars Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. Ummmm- I'm in. Christina Bale is easily one of the most talented guys working. So is Russell Crowe. I've written about The Insider and his performance is a big part of what's so great about that movie. Bale never ceases to amaze me and he put every other Batman performance to shame. Take a look at The Machinist, American Pyscho and The Prestige. If you haven't seen Batman Begins, you should.

Here's the trailer for 3:10 to Yuma.

My wife forced me to watch Kate and Leopold. yuck, chick flick1

Walk the Line was alright. Copland was pretty good. Never seen heavy.

I agree. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe are great actors.

I LOOOVE batman begins. My wife thinks Christian Bale is cute! She will watch that movie with me whenever I want!

As will I. I am not sure what it is about him, his mouth? He is a grade a hottie in the most non traditional sense. That movie was so dark- the Scarecrow scared the shyte out of me for a long time after- until I saw the guy (I forget his name) dressed as a woman. Then he was scary for an entirely different reason. ;) And yet, pretty.

Jason revisit Copland. I was super pumped when it was released in the theaters and I liked it when I saw it, but it wasn't until it was released on video and the hype I created for it died down and I realized how amazing it is. I loved batman too. easily the best one. scary, cool and real. and yeah I had zero interest in kate and leopold.
carla, it's cillian (pronounced like Killian's red) murphy and he's damn good. christian bale has this HUGE following and has since Empire of the Sun when he was like 13 years old. I'm glad he's getting the attention and recognition he deserves.

I'll admit it, Christian Bale is a handsome fella. 3:10 looks like it's going to be great. You don't see enough Westerns lately...it should be fun.

nonono- I'm not above getting into a fun thriller- I'm not a cinema snob. I grew up on Raiders, jaws, karate kid, back to the future...you get the point.
