It appears thats the title. Works for me...not that I have a choice. I like that it isn't a direct (as far as we know) reference to a monster or event, i.e. Godzilla or Independence Day. Better than the title is the new trailer. This trailer shows, however fleeting, much than we've seen yet so if you want to remain completely in the dark about the film don't watch it. Not that it gives much away but some people don't want to know anything. That being said, it's a kick ass trailer.
Of note...look at the page the trailer is on. NYC smoking in the background of a headless Statue of Liberty. Spiderman 3 also had the floor of a building, in NYC, destroyed with people falling out. Why is that okay, but the film United 93 was deemed "too soon?" Just curious...

That looks so cool
doesn't it. and with quicktime you can step through frame by frame and try to spot stuff in the background
I'll give it a try...it looks like they updated the CG on the statue of liberty head from the last trailer.
I agree. I saw the preview on the big screen last night and it was even better!
I can't wait for this!! I hope it lives up to the hype
it better damnit!
Do I foresee Jeff Reilly becoming a Lost fan like Sean Chase from 'Already Then'??? Abrams is pulling the same shit he does with Lost to promote the movie (fake products placement in other sci-fi shows, like a japanese slushy company in heroes, alternate sites, fake blogs, etc.) and releasing random bits of information with all sorts of scientific/historical references. If this formula which is also used in Lost, works in movies I'd like to be the one to tell the world that we are in for a long series of J.J. Abrams movies that will all come together in 10-20 years to make one final monster sized (no pun intended) Sci-Fi masterpiece. If hitchcock and Spielberg had a kid he'd have a production company called Bad Robot.
PS: His historical/science references are really crazy/creepy...me thinks JJ Abrams is a robot with a Terabyte drive dedicated to this sort of useless info.
Rammer-Rez makes an appearance! I haven't even spotted the slushy stuff in Heros! Shame on me...yeah the abrams knows what's up and I just saw the trailer on the big screen this weekend and it kicked unholy ass!
http://www.slusho.jp/
This is the drink often had (nonchalantly) by Heroes characters. In the cloverfield trailer, during the party, the birthday boy is wearing a slusho T shirt underneath his dress shirt. Slusho was also placed randomly throughout Alias... Damn you Abrams! What does it mean?!? I bet the monster is a giant slushy.
I wonder if he has just always liked the name. tarantino has a thing with red apple cigarettes and a few others I can't recall offhand. i love that shit!
